Livecraft’s back online!

As you should have noticed, Livecraft died. We had a hard drive failure; however, the hard drive survived. The data, however, did not. Everything was wiped, including the website, server, and everything. Me, Evil, and Medius have spent the last week getting Livecraft online and working nicely. It should be a lot faster than it used to be.

What’s new:

  1. Craftbook replaced Essentials
  2. Craftbook replaced TimeLock
  3. PermissionsEx replaced Essentials GroupManager
  4. ChatManager replaced Essentials Chat

Command differences:

  1. No more /tpa. Use /call instead.
  2. /back = resume from /afk.
  3. Use /return to go back to a location you were just at.

Other changes:

  1. Website died. D:
  2. Everything else died
  3. Server was totally reset.

I know many of you probably lost items from the new map, but there was no possible way to recover the lost data. Even if I could have recovered the map, it would have been severely corrupted and just not worth fixing.

Ban Appeals and Rank Requests

Hello,

Over the past couple of months, there’s been a select few who seem to not understand when and where the right places for certain things are, so I’m just going to clarify briefly.

Ban appeals are only handled here: http://mcbans.com/server/mc.live-craft.com. All other appeals can and will be ignored, with the exception of mistakes on our part. As for players who feel they or their friend(s) have been banned unfairly, visit mcbans.com and appeal there with a reason as to why you feel so. However, let it be known that “I didn’t do it” is not a valid answer and will not be taken seriously. Likewise, we will not change a global ban to a local ban simply because you don’t want it to hurt your reputation on servers utilizing mcbans. You were banned for a reason, and we use mcbans for a reason.

Rank requests are purely in-game for now, and any posted on the website (since we don’t have a forum(s) quite yet) will be ignored and deleted.

Hopefully those who are either confused or prefer to “do their own thing” no longer have a reason for being/doing so. Thank you for your cooperation!

Test Livecraft’s new website!

shushker and I (alfonsojon) have been busy developing a website to replace this one. It might look a little different, but what powers it is extremely different.

The new website is home-made, but the one you’re reading this on is powered by WordPress.

You can see it by clicking the “Test website!” link up in the navigation bar.

Plans for the new site:

Check if the user actually has a minecraft account before registering
Be way faster
Have forums and other neat stuff
Better website chat
Make it easier to use

Current status:
Layout made and designed
Begin working on news functions
Begin working on user registration functions

We’re online!

Livecraft’s online and ready for you guys to visit! Some things may be buggy such as furnaces and inventories however this should be resolved shortly.
Enjoy!

Minecraft 1.3, Map reset

Due to the HUGE amount of changes with Minecraft 1.3.1, we’ve decided to reset the map so that everyone can have fun with the jungle pyramids and better NPC villages. The Flatlands were not reset, and neither were the Skylands. It’s going to be a while until the Bukkit team (the people who develop our server software) make a version compatible with Minecraft 1.3.1, so we figured we’d use this time to make the new spawn. Please don’t tell us to upgrade, we will as soon as possible but until then you can participate in chats to the server through our IRC channel (The chat page, up in the top). There might be a few plugin tweaks in the following week in order to accommodate Minecraft 1.3.1 (such as a planned re-colouring of the user prefixes) and possibly a spleef plugin. Other than that, the server experience should be the same, aside from the map.

Hope this clarifies things,
Jonathan Alfonso (alfonsojon)

Downtime and the PVP server

As I’m sure you ALL have noticed, we had a period of downtime which lasted for something like a week. I would like to apologize for this but this was caused by an error on domain.com’s part (our domain registrar).

In other news, the long-anticipated PVP server is up! The website for it can be found at pvp.boxelcloud.com. To connect to the server, you can connect via pvp.live-craft.com, or 5.39.36.230. Have fun!

News and Progress

As most of you have seen by now via auto broadcasts on the server, the Livecraft PvP server is on its way. The server will include (not limited to): Factions, Mob Arena, specialised classes, a stream-line permission set-up, and much more!

What I feel you all should know is that there will be a new website for the PvP server, specifically, which will include ease-of-use, a ticket system for submitting reports or problems on the server, as well as a customised real-time map of the server.

Since some of you asked me questions about the website, I’ll tell you a bit more about what we’re planning (Edited by Shushker): As Drak had mentioned, the website will include a ticket system for submitting reports or problems on the server, but it will also include a unique home-page with the latest announcements, and possibly, don’t quote me on this, some special features for donators! So stay tuned for more updates while Drak & I work on it!

I can’t give an exact time of when the server will be open to the public, but expect it soon!
